Jennifer Thomas founded FSR Ventures in 2002 with more than 15 years of strategic public relations experience with a strong agency background. Jennifer is passionate about client service, taking their messages to market and is relentless about generating results.

 

Prior to launching FSR Ventures, Jennifer served as senior vice president and technology practice leader for Hill & Knowlton’s Washington, DC office. Leading a multi-million dollar practice, Jennifer has experience working with companies from Fortune 100 to start-up enterprises. She also has experience serving as vice presidents with small- to mid-size public relations firms.

An avid traveler, Jennifer started travel writing to couple her business intellect with her creative center leading to her focus on the travel and tourism industry. As a co-owner of a travel agency and having worked full-time for a $40 million dollar American Express representative office, Jennifer has a unique insight into this rapidly changing industry.

As a media trainer, Jennifer has worked with executives from companies and associations in individual sessions and large group (40 people plus) settings. Leveraging her expertise in media relations, Jennifer has also conducted training sessions on how to work with the media and has trained communications staff members at client sites.

As a featured travel marketing expert, she has been a presenter at conferences and meetings including the American Society of Travel Agents, Delaware Chapter of American Society of Travel Agents, United States Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, HUMRRO, Jefferson Government Relations and to a group of Northern Virginia educators.

 

Jennifer has also presented on marketing and public relations strategies at conferences for Equipment Leasing Association, Public Relations Society of America, Florida Public Relations Association, National Association of Convenience Stores, Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, PRSA Counselor’s Academy and has served as a moderator for the Northern Virginia Technology Council.

 

A published author, Jennifer is a regular contributor to ASTA Network Magazine, Travel-Advocate, and Southwest Florida Parent & Child magazine and has been published in Upgrade magazine (Software & Information Industry Association), Agent Life Magazine, ASTA's What's On Guide and co-authored an article for the Public Relations Society of America’s The Strategist magazine. She has written numerous bylined articles for clients under CEO’s names for a variety of industries. Jennifer created a travel blog titled Tropical Family Travel focusing on family travel ideas and tips.  she is often quoted in the media as a travel expert and a PR source including MSNBC, Smart Money, iParenting, Parents magazine, and Ragan.com.  A U.S. Air Force veteran, Jennifer specialized in public affairs and is a former reporter for OnGuard, The Thunderer, The BG News, The Gavel and a stringer for a Toledo-based daily newspaper.

 

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Theatre from Bowling Green State University. She also completed graduate work toward her M.A. in Theatre.
